Spring Festival Event Recap | Making Dumplings and Welcoming Spring

IPAC’s public Spring Festival dumpling-making event, held in April, came to a successful close. As the weather gradually warmed and spring quietly approached, IPAC organized this community gathering to help participants feel a sense of home during the lingering chill of early spring. Community members came together to sit around the table, hand-making plates of warm dumplings and sharing laughter and conversation. Through this simple yet meaningful tradition, participants welcomed the arrival of spring while experiencing warmth, togetherness, and a strong sense of community.

From kneading dough to mixing fillings, the warmth of everyday life filled the space. On the day of the event, everyone gathered around to take part in each step—from preparing the dough and seasoning the fillings to shaping the dumplings—each moment filled with anticipation and joy.

Some participants skillfully rolled wrappers and folded neat edges, while others carefully crafted dumplings in their own “signature” shapes. As hands stayed busy, conversations flowed, with many sharing childhood memories of Spring Festival traditions. The aroma of fresh ingredients filled the air, and laughter echoed through the kitchen, creating an atmosphere that felt just like a warm family gathering.

Rene’s Mental Health Roundtable: A Warm Conversation on Togetherness

Beyond preparing food together, participants also gathered for Rene’s mental health roundtable discussion. In this intimate and reflective session, everyone shared what togetherness means to them. Some recalled cherished memories of family conversations around the table, while others spoke about finding a sense of belonging far from home.

Through these heartfelt exchanges, the shared reflections softened the season and filled the spring gathering with warmth, connection, and gentle understanding.

This Spring Festival dumpling-making event not only allowed everyone to experience the taste of home, but also brought our hearts a little closer together. While spring is still on its way, warmth has already taken root and begun to grow within us.

We sincerely thank every friend who joined us. IPAC looks forward to hosting more heartwarming gatherings in the future, walking alongside our community and welcoming many more meaningful moments together.

When the freshly cooked dumplings were finally served, everyone gathered around the table, bowls and chopsticks in hand, filled with anticipation. With the first bite, warm broth spilled out, and the familiar flavours brought a sense of comfort and satisfaction.

In that moment, it was more than a shared meal—it was a quiet nourishment for the heart. At IPAC, we are not just friends; we come together like a warm and caring family.
