On September 27, 2026, IPAC successfully hosted its Mid-Autumn Festival Community Fair at 105 Gibson Centre.
On this beautiful autumn afternoon, we brought together community members to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival through a variety of interactive booths, cultural activities, and live performances.
The event featured over 20 community booths and partners, welcoming more than 200 attendees throughout the afternoon. From Mid-Autumn-themed crafts, lantern making, DIY buttons, and face painting to floral displays, interactive games, and our special “Collect Moon Phases, Redeem Prizes” activity, there was something for everyone to enjoy, creating memorable festival experiences for community members of all ages.
In addition to organizing and coordinating the event, IPAC also hosted its own community booth. From distributing mental health care packages to preparing a variety of exciting prizes for the “Collect Moon Phases, Redeem Prizes” activity, we hoped to bring joy, connection, and a sense of festive warmth to everyone who joined us.
The success of this community fair would not have been possible without the support of every vendor, community organization, sponsor, performer, volunteer, and community member who took part. Together, more than 20 booths created a vibrant little “Mid-Autumn Community,” where cultural celebrations extended beyond the stage and came to life through meaningful interactions, shared experiences, and connections among community members.

We were also honoured to welcome three distinguished community guests to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with us: Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Member of Parliament Vincent Neil Ho, and York Regional Councillor Alan Ho.
All three guests shared warm greetings and expressed their support for community cultural celebrations. In addition, MP Vincent Ho hosted a booth at the event and distributed mooncakes to community members, adding an extra touch of warmth and festive spirit to the celebration.
We sincerely thank MP Vincent Ho, Mayor Frank Scarpitti, and Regional Councillor Alan Ho for presenting Certificates of Recognition, providing meaningful keepsakes to commemorate this special occasion.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Councillor Simon Cui and Regional Councillor Joe DiPaola, who, although unable to attend in person, kindly sent greeting letters to celebrate the occasion. We are truly grateful for their continued support of IPAC and community cultural initiatives.

Interactive Booths and Activities
IPAC’s Event-Wide Activity | Collect Moon Phases, Redeem Prizes
One of the highlights of this year’s fair was our special “Collect Moon Phases, Redeem Prizes” activity, which encouraged visitors to explore different booths throughout the venue. Participants searched for moon phases, took photos to complete their collections, and visited the redemption station to claim prizes and try out our brand-new badge-making machine.
The badge-making station quickly became one of the most popular attractions of the day. After completing their moon phase collections, participants gathered around the table to choose their favourite designs. Some created their own drawings, while others selected from a variety of cartoon and anime-themed stickers to make their very own Mid-Autumn Festival badges.
Each little badge became a unique keepsake, allowing participants to take home a piece of their Mid-Autumn Festival memories.

Booth Highlight
Eyes on Mi art booth, children and adults alike enjoyed expressing their creativity through painting. With brushes in hand, participants carefully sketched and coloured their own interpretations of the Mid-Autumn Festival, creating personal memories while bringing a peaceful and heartwarming atmosphere to the celebration.
LingoAce’s lantern-making activities and selection of fun toys were equally popular, attracting families and visitors of all ages. The Song Brocade Pendant DIY Workshop also drew enthusiastic participation, giving visitors the opportunity to create traditional Chinese-inspired accessories while experiencing the beauty of cultural craftsmanship.

Beyond these hands-on activities, the fair featured a diverse range of booths hosted by community organizations and local partners. These booths offered everything from information sharing and community services to resources related to housing, transportation, and everyday living. As visitors explored the fair, they had opportunities to exchange experiences, discover useful local resources, and connect with services that support their daily lives.
Our Community Recommendation Wall also attracted many participants. Visitors marked their favourite hidden gems, local businesses, and community spots on a shared map, contributing their personal recommendations. Throughout the afternoon, the wall gradually transformed into a community-created “Local Hidden Gems Map,” filled with discoveries and recommendations from local residents.
Other popular attractions included traditional lacquer fan painting, face painting by Kitty & Tulip, and the Snack Bar. These stations welcomed a steady stream of visitors throughout the event. From exploring traditional crafts to enjoying delicious treats and creative activities, community members shared laughter and memorable moments, keeping the celebration lively and welcoming.
Stage Highlights
The stage program began with welcoming remarks from MP Vincent Ho, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, and Regional Councillor Alan Ho, who each extended their Mid-Autumn Festival greetings to the community.
Following the opening remarks, our Diamond Sponsor, 16th Avenue Dental (XiaoYue Dental), took the stage to introduce their services and share their commitment to community oral health.
16th Avenue Dental Dental brings together a team of dental professionals trained at leading institutions in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Their comprehensive services include dental implants, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, airway-focused care, and general dental treatments. By combining internationally informed techniques with a holistic approach to health, the team strives to provide personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
The stage performances brought even more excitement to the afternoon. One particularly memorable moment was when Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti performed the beloved Chinese song The Moon Represents My Heart (月亮代表我的心). His performance brought the festive spirit to a new high, as audience members joined in singing along, creating a truly heartwarming moment of community celebration.
The Do Re Mi Music Group also presented a wonderful variety of performances throughout the event.
From dance and folk songs to traditional musical performances, the program featured clarinet and hulusi performances, poetry recitations, and instrumental ensembles, showcasing a rich blend of artistic expressions.
Among the highlights was a traditional Korean ethnic dance performance, which captivated the audience with its graceful movements and distinctive cultural elements. The performance added another beautiful dimension to the celebration, reflecting the richness of cultural diversity and the connections that music and dance can create across communities.
The IPAC Mid-Autumn Festival Community Fair came to a wonderful close, filled with laughter, warmth, and heartfelt wishes.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all our honoured guests, sponsors, community organizations, hosts, performers, and volunteers for their incredible support. We also thank everyone who joined us to celebrate the festival, enjoy hands-on activities, watch performances, and explore the community booths. Your participation made this Mid-Autumn afternoon truly meaningful and memorable.
The full moon symbolizes reunion, and the spirit of community grows through the connections we make and the moments we share. We look forward to coming together again at future cultural events and creating even more cherished memories.
Wishing everyone a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival filled with peace, happiness, and togetherness. May the full moon bring warmth and reunion to you and your loved ones.
